Welcome to the Colorado State

         Association of Letter Carriers

The following link and the attachments in this email will help to address that issue:

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/organizations/cleaning-disinfection.html

Attached you will find a copy of CDC’s recommended environmental cleaning and disinfection recommendations (with and without highlighting).

The document makes reference to a listing of EPA registered household disinfectants that should be effecting (emphasis added).

I have also attached 2020 03-03 EPA COVID-19 Antimicrobials.pdf which is the EPA listing of those cleaning items.

In addition to the above, the link below has been posted to the nalc.org safety page.

It is the March 9, 2020 message from PMG Brennan addressing the COVID-19 concerns that we have been discussing.

Please pass this on to the stewards in your branches so that our carriers are more likely to see what she has to say.

Essential Service Provider

Please see the attached Stand-up Talk which is accompanied by an Essential Service Provider Letter for all City Carriers to possess.  Distribute this information to all of your stewards to ensure that the stand-up is done in every station. The SUT should be given immediately and management must give you a copy of the letter after the talk.  The explanation is below.

Postal Service employees travelling for work in areas with local travel restrictions should do three things:

One, whenever you travel, carry your Postal Service-issued identification (ID) badge and the Essential Service Provider Letter. These will provide travel justification in case you are stopped by local or state law enforcement.

Two, if encountered or stopped by state or local law enforcement officials enforcing travel restrictions, show your postal-issued ID and Essential Service Provider Letter to identify yourself as a postal employee or postal contractor.

And three, explain the nature of your work for the Postal Service and the reason why you are travelling, either from home to work, during the workday, or returning home from work.
