Rod is a native Coloradoan and an alumnus of Colorado State University.  He is married to Cindy, a letter carrier and fellow union activist.  They have 3 children.

Rod has been active in the NALC since transferring from the clerk craft in 1991.  He has been representing carriers in the Route Inspection process in the state and region since 1994.  Rod has been a shop steward, branch trustee, branch treasurer, local business agent and  arbitration advocate.

Rod previously served the State Association on the Executive Board, as Director of Education and was elected VP in May 2007.
